WHAT IS COVERED AS QUALIFIED SUPPORT

Generally, funds are available for the reasonable cost of necessary family and living expenses in the following categories: Medical/Medicine, Housing, and Food & Groceries. Requests for other reasons can be made and will be reviewed.

MEDICAL/MEDICINE

Qualified expenses include your medical expenses that are not compensated for by insurance (e.g., your deductible and out-of-pocket expenses) for treatment, prescriptions, supplies or over the counter medications. You will be asked to provide a copy of the medical bill, pharmacy invoice or receipt.

HOUSING

Qualified expenses include rent and mortgage payments to avoid eviction or foreclosure. You will be asked to provide your rental agreement or mortgage statement and any additional information on eviction or foreclosure proceedings.

FOOD & GROCERIES

Qualified expenses include the reasonable cost of purchasing food for you and your household. Funds for this category can be requested weekly based on funds available and size of household. You will be asked to provide an itemized list of what the request will cover, including an approximate price of each item.  After the items are purchased with qualified funds, you will be asked to provide a receipt of the items that were purchased.

OTHER

Expenses other than those noted above may be qualified if they support you in maintaining employment or returning to work. Examples may include transportation passes, internet, or equipment to allow you to work remotely. You will be asked to provide an itemized list of what the request will cover, including an approximate price of the items.  After the items are purchased with qualified funds, you will be asked to provide a receipt of the items that were purchased.

HOW MUCH CAN YOU EXPECT

Qualified support will be awarded based on eligibility and need. The Fund was established based on an anticipated average award of $250. The Fund will make minimum support payments of $25, and requests over $2,500 will require approval by the Board’s Executive Chair.
